Background
The people behind Simply Algarve came to Hex Design with a requirement to develop a site to run their property rental business.
A site was needed to market and rent out a recently completed luxurious villa on the Algarve.
Another requirement was that it could run itself as the owners did not want to have to spend much time on admin work.
Solution
A database driven website was built that allowed visitors to view all available dates and give them a price for their stay. Visitors then have a choice of converting the quote into a booking by entering a few personal details, or by logging on if they are a previous customer.
The website includes a complex online quote calculation module that calculates the price according to the length of the stay, time of year and any discounts for previous customers.
In order to streamline the quotation and booking process, the entire site was automated. Once customers had a price they can simply enter their contact and payment details and their visit is booked. Emails are sent out to the local agents and the customer giving complete instructions.
Previous customers are able to log in to the site with their email address and password to enable them to receive a discounted rate.
Hex Designs content management system was added to the package to allow them to easily update the pricing and to allow them to mark time as unavailable on the webstite in case of any manual bookings.
